Full Itinerary:
Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Mingalabar! Welcome to Yangon – the city of glistening pagodas. On arrival, welcome by Go Myanmar’s local tour guide and then transfer directly to the hotel for check-in. After that, the rest of the day will be yours.
Day 2: Yangon City Tour
A full day to explore the enchanting Yangon. After breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel’s lobby and then enjoy a drive through the colonial buildings of the city to gaze out at the fabulous mix of colonial and Burmese architecture.
Make your first visit to Kandawgyi Lake, the best photo stop in Yangon to breathe the fresh air in the morning.
Next up, proceed to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, home to one of the most revered statues measuring at 65 meters long and 16 meters high.
Following your afternoon sightseeing with a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the grandest Buddhist pagodas in the world. According to legend, inside the main stupa of the pagoda contains many sacred relics of the Buddha and thus making it one of the main pilgrim sites in the country. Spend your time to stroll around the pagoda land to witness the typical design of the pagoda and observe the local pilgrims paying their homage to the Buddha.
Day 3: Yangon – Dalar Circular Train
This morning, your guide will escort you to the Yangon Railway Station to get on a scenic train ride through the countryside to get a glimpse at the real-life of Burmese people. This breathtaking train ride will lead you to the Danyingone Market. Be sure to bring your camera to catch the image of the market sellers and hawkers boarding the train with their homegrown product.
Day 4: Yangon – Fly to Bagan
Leave Yangon this morning to take a domestic flight to Bagan, the land of magnificent temples. Upon arrival, welcome by your local guide and head to Shwezigon Temple, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Bagan. Here, your guide will introduce you to the Buddhist teaching on each terrace of the main stupa. After that, depart to Ananda Temple, regarded by folklore as one of the most beautiful temples in Bagan.
Leave the pagoda, we head to the jetty to embark on Strand cruise ship to check-in. Welcome by the cabin crew and enjoy a cozy lunch on board, then enjoy a short break before ready for an afternoon sightseeing.
This afternoon, visit the elegant Sulamani Temple and Gubyaukgyi where you can learn more about the life of Buddha through mural painting.
Later on, return to your ship and relax on the sundeck. Behold the romantic beauty of the Irrawaddy River at sunset.
Day 5: Bagan
Wake up in the sound of nature and enjoy the air from the ship. Let the light wind touch your skin and savor the sight and tranquil ambiance on the river that you can find nowhere else. Today will be an exciting day as you will have a chance to gain more insight into the life of the villagers who live in the countryside. Your guide will take you to visit some families in Minanthu villages to see how people weave the fabric and make the cigar from corn skins.
Day 6: Bagan – Mandalay
Today will be a long day of sailing to Mandalay. You can spend the whole day relax and enjoy the facilities onboard.
Day 7: Mandalay – Mingun
The morning of day 7 leads you to Mingun, a charming riverside village where is home to several historical sites.
Upon Mingun, take a local tuk-tuk to visit the village. Make your first visit to the world’s largest unfinished Mingun Pagoda. Then move to the elegant Hsinbyume Temple – a beguiling white-washed temple built by King Bagyidaw to commemorate his wife Queen Hisnbyume who unfortunately lost her life while giving childbirth. Finally, head to Mingun Bell, the world’s second-largest ringing bell. Take your time to listen to the story of the bell before returning to the board.
Day 8: Mandalay – Ava & Amarapura
This morning, rise before dawn to take part in preparing the traditional food to offer to the monks in the monastery in Mandalay. After that, drive to Amarapura, well-known as the City of Immortality. Visit U Bein Bridge – the poetic attraction on Taungthaman Lake. At 1.2 kilometers, it is the longest teak bridge in the world. Here get on a local sampan to sail around the lake and capture the panoramic view to the legend bridge.
Leaving Amarapura, we head back to the city to visit Mahamuni Pagoda, home to one of the most highly revered Buddha images in the country.
In the afternoon, make your way to Ava, the ancient capital of Myanmar. Get on a horse carriage to discover the laid-back town, make your way to the impressive Maha Aungme Bonza Monastery and Nyang Mint Watchtower.
Day 9: Mandalay – Heho – Inle Lake
Say goodbye to Mandalay this morning to take a flight to Inle Lake, the natural paradise of Myanmar. On arrival, welcome by your guide and transfer to the hotel to check-in. The rest of the day will be yours.
Day 10: Inle Lake – Indein – Fly to Yangon
Start your amazing day with a breathtaking boat trip through scenic channels to Indein village, home to the Pa-oh people who are known for colorful attires and traditional weaving. Take leisure walk to discover the exotic Shwe Indein Pagoda. With over 1000 ancient sites, some of them are well preserved, some are dominated by nature.
In the afternoon, check out at the hotel and transfer to the airport to take a flight to Yangon.
Day 11: Yangon Departure
After breakfast, enjoy your day at leisure until the driver comes to pick you up to transfer to the airport to take a departure flight. If today is not Monday, you can spend your time to visit Boygyoke Market, the largest bazaar in Yangon where you can gaze out at the daily trade in the city.
